Searching for Afunakwa

Searching for Afunakwa is a documentary that traces the story behind one of the most recognisable pieces of 'world music' of the 1990s – "Sweet Lullaby" by Deep Forest. It looks back to the song’s origins in a remote village in the Solomon Islands and follows its journey into the 1990s music industry and a renewed life in the YouTube era. At its heart, it explores Afunakwa, the singer behind the original recording, and the Baegu, the people from which the song came.
