Three years later, Xiao Bei Ming resurfaces, just as new murders involving the sewing of brides begin. After searching for clues for the past couple of years, Xiao Bei Ming reaches out to Xue Man for help in finding the real culprit who murdered her father and the 3 other men on the boat on their wedding day.

Xue Man realizes that there is another culprit, whom they have named as “Tailor”, responsible for the deaths of the brides. As she moves forward with the investigation, she, Bei Ming, and Qing Zhuo are targeted by multiple people.

Bei Ming, Xue Man, and Qing Zhuo follow leads to Hu Shisan and Sada, but it results in dead ends. Bei Ming begins to suffer the ill effects of the poison pill that was accidentally given to him. Zhuge Kong Yun continues to keep an eye on them, hoping to expose Bei Ming.

Bei Ming, Xue Man, and Qing Zhuo head to Marquis Jingshan’s manor, where they hope to find Ajia, who they believe is impersonating Sada. Ajia is suddenly kidnapped, and the whole constabulary is in a mad dash to find him and his kidnapper, not realizing who the real target is.

Though Bei Ming and Xue Man find out who the Tailor is, sewing up bride corpses, they discover that the Tailor is one of many in the Yesha organization, born of the blood bath in Haiya, being kept secret by the government. Yesha strikes again, claiming the lone remaining prime minister.

Another life is claimed, and though Bei Ming, Xue Man, and Kong Yun believe it is the work of Yesha, they must find evidence to confirm. General Huo’s wife and disciples prevent the constabulary from investigating, but they find ways around it and encounter Huo Dai Rong, General Huo’s daughter, who also wants to know the truth about his death.

The case for General Huo’s death goes in a completely different direction when a more detailed autopsy reveals the true cause of his death. Bei Ming, Xue Man, and Kong Yun continue their investigation at General Huo’s mansion.

During the team’s investigation at General Huo’s mansion, Huo Dai Rong calls out Xiao Bei Ming, and the team realizes there is more to Dai Rong than meets the eye with Dai Rong. There is yet another death at the mansion; however, the suspect this time is a shock to everyone.

Xue Man and Kong Yun go after Madam Huo and Li Xiao, learning the truth about their relationship and interaction with General Huo. Bei Ming goes back to General Huo’s mansion to search for more clues, which ultimately leads him to Madam Feng and Dai Rong.

The team solves the mystery behind General Huo’s death, but Bei Ming can’t shake the feeling that there’s something more than meets the eye. Bei Ming’s illness resurfaces again and is worse than before. Qing Zhuo scrambles to find an antidote.

Dai Rong finds a new lead that the team traces to Guangsha Villa, owned by General Huo’s personal guard. She follows them on their investigation to learn more about her true identity. However, they are one step late as their lead unexpectedly perishes.

The team arrests the Immortal’s disciple when they notice inconsistencies in his behavior and what he told them. Their investigation leads them to a new suspect who is related to Haiya and Yesha. Kong Yun is not far behind in his investigation.

Xue Man gives an update on the Chu Gang Sha case to Kong Yun and his father. Qing Zhuo’s identity comes into question when Xue Man finds Old Bug to obtain the Fire Cicada herb for Bei Ming.

Qing Zhuo gains a lot of information from Old Bug, good and bad, leading the team to head to Weizhou, where the rare red crystal can be found. With all of her family gone, Dai Rong joins them in their investigation, while Ton Shuang wrestles with his past.

After arriving at the Pingyuan Agency, Tong Shuang’s home, the townsfolk accuse them of taking corpses and haunting the cemetery. The team investigates the sick horses, the missing corpses, and the red crystal mine. Tormented by the murder of his family and unable to control his anger, Tong Shuang puts his friends at risk.

Kong Yun begins to piece things together, then heads to Weizhou, looking for Bei Ming. As the team continues the investigation, Bei Ming takes some time to address Tong Shuang’s anger and pain. Bei Ming and Qing Zhuo continue to keep their secret from the rest of the team.

After realizing Bei Ming is still poisoned, the team bands together to help solve the Yesha case. Qing Zhuo volunteers to go undercover to find out how and where the Yellow Heaven is harvesting blood for the immortality pill that killed Chu Guang Sha. Despite their efforts to keep tabs on Qing Zhou, he suddenly goes missing.

The team trace Qing Zhuo’s blood to the cave where Yellow Heaven is harvesting blood. Though they capture the Master of Yellow Heaven, Kong Yun intercepts them and takes their prisoner before they reach the capital. Kong Yun is caught in an ambush, and the prisoner escapes.

Old Bug abducts Bei Ming and lures Xue Man to his hideout in an effort to surpass his nemesis, Qing Zhuo’s master. Kong Yun vows to find the escaped prisoner in three days to delay the Emperor’s punishment. Xue Man is tricked by Old Bug.

Bei Ming and team scramble to find evidence that will exculpate Xue Man, while the Elite Constabulary rally to support her. However, time is running out for Kong Yun and his father, so they decide to take a gamble on Xue Man’s life.

Though Bei Ming clears Xue Man of the charges against her, he is taken into custody on suspicion of being Yesha. Kong Yun does the unthinkable, proposing that Bei Ming be sent back to the Elite Constabulary for questioning. Bei Ming understands Kong Yun’s intentions.

As their first order of priority, the team set out to find Huang Wu Chang, the Holy Master of Yellow Heaven, who had escaped. They investigate who had knowledge of the secret route Kong Yun took while escorting Wu Chang back to the capital. Needing Kong Yun’s help, Tong Shuang, Qing Zhuo, and Dai Rong attempt to reach out to Li Long, Kong Yun’s personal guard.

After figuring out who decoded the secret message indicating Kong Yun’s path back to the capital with Wu Chang, new clues lead them to a mysterious substance that attracts lightning. The team heads to Mount Lightning to not only capture Wu Chang, but also to find Tong Shuang, who has gone missing.

Bei Ming and Kong Yun make a deal, working together to unravel the mysteries of Yesha and Haiya. Kong Yun’s investigations led Bei Ming to Wu Zhui, who was likely present in the Haiya massacre. Bei Ming takes a gamble and stakes his life for truth and justice.

Although the team gains new information after obtaining the book of Haiya orphans, it leads them to a dead end, as anyone related to Haiya has been eliminated by Yesha except for a select few. A final clue left by Wu Zhui leads them to the darkest place in the Qi Kingdom, the Infernal Dungeon.

Using the map from Wu Lie, the team heads to Haiya, where they find a mysterious group of women and children within a barricaded camp. The team must earn the trust of the Haiya people to understand what caused the massacre many years ago. They discover it all started at the center of Haiya, called Lonely Town, where people become monsters.

The team captures Luo Shu’s brother, who tells them to go to the Bei Hai residence in Lonely Town. They discover a passageway that leads them to different levels underneath the mansion. They must survive and complete the task of each level to proceed to the next. Qing Zhuo finds clues relating to Poison Valley.

When the team reach the final level, they discover a room that contains the historical events leading to the massacre at Haiya and information about Bei Ming’s parents.

Time is running out as Chief Fang has been arrested by Chief Zhuge for releasing Bei Ming. Though Bei Ming has deduced the identity of Yesha, he and his team scramble to find him before Chief Fang is executed. Kong Yun confronts his father, trying to understand his enmity toward the Elite Constabulary.

They search for Miao Jie’s adopted son, who they think became the next Yesha after Miao Jie’s death. Upon finding him, they realize he was subjected to Miao Jie’s tortures and ran away from him because he didn’t hold the same beliefs. Bei Ming locks himself up to study all the cases related to Yesha. He emerges, shaken, asking Kong Yun to accompany him somewhere…

Kong Yun returns with shocking news that confirms Bei Ming’s suspicions about the identity of Yesha. Bei Ming seeks an audience with the Emperor to determine the next steps. Meanwhile, Yesha returns, claiming yet another life.

Bei Ming comes face-to-face with his brother, Bei Kun, who has voluntarily turned himself in. Unbeknownst to Bei Ming, this was all part of Bei Kun’s larger plan. Time is running out for the team as they hurriedly unravel Bei Kun’s deceptions.

By tracing down the small clues left behind, Bei Ming meticulously unravels Bei Kun’s illusions. To quell the unrest spreading across the capital, the Emperor decides to have a Heaven Worship Ceremony. Realizing this is the next opportune moment for Bei Kun, Bei Ming and team prepare to take him on.

Unbeknownst to the team, their plan to capture Bei Kun was yet again a part of his master plan. Bei Kun traps Bei Ming, Xue Man, Kong Yun, Qing Zhuo, and Dai Rong, while he carries out his plan to destroy Qi. Out of desperation, one of them makes the biggest sacrifice, so they can all escape and stop Bei Kun, and in so doing, unwittingly discovers how to save the people of Qi.
