This City Never Sleeps

As the board reshuffle at Macau's Shanglifer Group approaches, chairman Koon Chi Sum unexpectedly announces his retirement, igniting a fierce succession battle between his eldest son Koon Hiu Yin and younger son Koon Hiu Kwan. Hiu Yin, who believed victory was within his grasp, is stunned to learn that his father intends to anoint Hiu Kwan as successor. On the eve of the election, Chi Sum is mysteriously kidnapped for ransom; Hiu Kwan and his ambitious wife Wong Suet Ying scramble to raise the money to save him, while the calculating Hiu Yin pressures the board of directors and leverages his secret lover Kwok Chi Yuen—a journalist—to dig up damaging material on the directors, turning the tables. Just as the result is about to be announced, someone at the meeting overturns the election outcome on the spot.
